Objectives: The goal of this research is to analyze the relationship between the leader’s image and leadership. This research will investigate the effect of a leader’s image on his or her leadership and explore how to use the results of the research to develop more effective leadership by enhancing leadership image. Methods Statistical Analysis: A questionnaire survey was conducted on 120 government workers who work at government offices in Seoul metropolitan area. Findings: The result of the research showed that a leader’s image does affect his or her leadership. To be specific, professional image and external image have a significant effect on charisma, intellectual stimulation, individual care, transformative leadership and transactional leadership. Improvements/Applications: The conclusion of this research laid a theoretical foundation for a claim that leaders must make efforts to enhance their images to more effectively exercise their leadership.
