Application of Power Matrix Technique for Controlling DFIG Wind Turbine System

Abstract

This paper proposes a new adaptive control technique for doubly fed induction generator wind energy system called Power Transfer Matrix. For this matrix the state variables considered as instantaneous real and reactive power components. It is shown that using the power transfer matrix model improves the robustness of controllers as the power waveforms are independent of a dqo frame of reference. In order to protect the power converters of DFIG during fault a power/current scheme is presented. The performance of the proposed grid connected DFIG wind energy system is investigated in dynamic modelling. These systems are experimented in Matlab/Simulink and verify the results in time domain analysis
