Objectives: Multi-tenancy architecture has revealed remarkable performance in terms of resource sharing and cost-effective environment by means of virtualization. However, several organizations are still hesitant in deciding whether to transform their digital assets to multi-tenancy environment due to concerns regarding its security. The objectives of this study are to overcome the challenge of security issues in virtualization by introducing Quarantine approach. Methods: In this study, we highlight the security issues with respect to virtualization, namely hypervisor attack and malicious image sharing. Moreover, we proposed the suggested solutions which consist of EndVisor and Quarantine approach that correspond to the aforementioned issues. The paper in turn provides more insight about the security risks of multi-tenancy environment as well as suggestions in tackling the security issues. Findings: The study shows satisfactory results with a simpler algorithm while masking and encryption methodology can be further improved to provide better performance. Application: The application of this approach is to be used in overcoming the security challenge in virtualization.
