Information communication technology is one of the major yardsticks to measure socio economic development of the country and hence its effective management using the latest technological tools is the prerequisite for any nation. The study was carried out with these main objectives: To examine existing methods and techniques of Information Technology (IT) in India, to assess the impact of IT on different sections of the society, to analyze perceptions of respondents regarding effectiveness of IT on different sections of the Society. The present study is confined to the selected respondents in the society viz., students, employees, business people, professional people (like doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers and rural people) who are residing in Visakhapatnam in India. In this study some important tools and techniques are used such as percentage, mean, standard deviation and Chi-Square test. On the basis of quota sampling method, about 60 respondents from each section representing 480 in total are interviewed.
