Understanding the interactions and relationships between fertilizer and minerals help to have optimum fertilization practicewiththelowestcosts. Inasplitplot fieldexperiment,westudiedtheeffectofsomeorganicsubstrate(control (soil),spentmushroomcompost(SMC),cowmanureandvermicompost) anddifferentlevelsofphosphorus(at0,75,100 and125kgh–1 )toinvestigatethebesttreatmentforsomecharactersofmedicinalpumpkin(Cucurbita pepoL.)suchas: leafandbranchnumber,plantheight,fruitnumber,fruitweight,seednumber,oilpercentage,zincandphosphoruscontent of seeds. Results showed that vermicompost is the best organic substrate for improving of the most characters. For phosphorusapplicationalone,100(kg.h–1 )wasthebesttreatmentsformostcharactersandincombinedapplicationoforganic substrateandphosphorus,vermicompostwith100(kg.ha–1 )wasthebesttreatment toincreasethemorphologicaland yield factors.
