Objectives: This paper deals with the effect of dynamic resistance due to small capacitor in a high step up converter and its compensation technique. Methods: Initially the required resistance for the system is calculated and stored. Then the dynamic resistance (DR) of PV system is calculated using input voltage and input current of PV system and compared with the required resistance with the help of a switch type compensator. If DR of PV is greater than the required, then the compensator helps to reduce it to required resistance and if DR of PV is less than the required, the compensator adjust accordingly to get a steady output voltage. Findings: Findings proved that the effect of dynamic resistance due to small capacitors cause variation in output voltage and the DR compensation helps to get steady output voltage. Applications: This system is designed for high voltage applications.
