Objectives: In this paper a tri-band U-Slot Patch Antenna for Wireless Communication Applications is presented Methods/ Statistical Analysis: The four inverted U-slots are introduced to achieve tri-band performance. These slots introduce notches in the band coverage. The innermost U-slot rejects frequency bands that are greater than 6 GHz. The next slot rejects frequency bands between 4 and 5 GHz. The third slot rejects frequency bands between 3 and 3.2 GHz and the outermost U-slot rejects frequency bands that are less than 2 GHz. Findings: The antenna with compact structure and wideband characteristics offers a suitable radiation pattern, bandwidth of 3.94 GHz and gain of 4.77 dB. Applications: The proposed antenna can be used in devices working on WLAN & WiMAX frequencies.
