This study aimed to identify the degree of satisfaction with a Korean government SME consulting programme and consultants to provide data to improve the programme through performance measurement. This study focuses on the SME consulting programme because SMEs face a difficult business environment butlack the resources to pro-actively respond to changes in the business environment. Previous domestic studies on consulting focused mainly on theory, and particularly on large businesses. This study used data from a survey of SMEs involved with the SME consulting programme to determine satisfaction with the programme, the consultants, and the factors influencing the programme’s performance. Furthermore, it conducted an in-depth analysis of the influence of these factors and provide directions for future developments by measuring the achievements of the business-consulting programme.
