Background/Objective: The article analyses the results of an empirical study of personal and emotional characteristics of modern volunteers. Methods: The authors reveal the key factors of stress resistance in volunteers, defining their psychological portrait. Great attention is paid to the best practices of volunteer centers which organize psychological support and to the methods of providing psychological and social assistance. It should be noted that the elaboration of special programs for resource optimization and its effective use is an important task of the volunteer society.
